Since its founding in 1994, AAA Partners in Adoption, Inc., of Alpharetta, Georgia, has guided families through the adoption process. As part of its work, AAA Partners in Adoption, Inc., provides adopting families with the resources they need, including assistance with embryo adoption. A relatively new form of adoption, embryo adoption is a particularly attractive option for women who cannot conceive but are medically capable of carrying a child through gestation and birth.

During the process of in vitro fertilization (IVF), women often produce more embryos than necessary for pregnancy. These extra embryos, stored and kept healthy upon the conclusion of IVF treatment, now number more than 600,000 throughout the United States. Through organizations like the Embryo Adoption Awareness Center, families can apply for and, if approved, receive embryo donations.

Embryo adoption provides hope to families experiencing issues with achieving pregnancy. In addition, it does so at roughly one-third the cost of a domestic adoption.
